WALDEN AROMA, 2021—2024
We started developing aromatherapy products at Walden because scent is one of the fastest ways to shift a mood, signal a transition, or ground attention. These became tools to help people enter practice more easily and stay there longer. We focused on single material objects made through one or two manufacturing processes. Machined metal became the material of choice because it is durable, adaptable, and easy to refine with each production run.

ESSENTIAL OIL
We worked with Bioalchemy, a New York-based olfactory studio, to create a custom essential oil blend. The scent was Forest. Made from about as pure ingredients as you can get, it was an homage to the book, to nature, to the feeling of being outdoors. Once we had the oil, we started designing objects to bring it to life. Different skin applications, a Lava Rock Diffuser, a candle lit burner.
