We breathe all day without giving much thought to the air itself. Modern environments are often hostile to our airways and disrupt the body’s natural ability to filter air.

Halite is portable electronic atomizer that reconsiders the familiar hand-to-mouth format of a vape or cigarette. Its first pod contains an isotonic blend of distilled water and purified mineral salts, which an ultrasonic element transforms into a fine, cooling mist. Halite is made for respiratory hydration, and bringing the sensation of ocean air within reach.

We worked with the Halite's cofounders, Tim and Ed, to develop their early prototype into a compact stainless steel device shaped by the engineering inside. A curved part line marks where the body opens for pod loading and access to the ultrasonic element. A discreet LED casts light into the palm to communicate device status. At the tip, five perforations separate the mist into individual streams that soften and diffuse as they leave the device.
